One of the band confirmed on Facebook that a piano/ vocal version of Remember Me existed, and even offered to upload on Soundcloud but that never happened sadly. Shame it never materialised, even if only for a glimpse of what would presumably have been the official cover art for it. Yes, I was very much looking forward to the 2CD release with (hopefully) further previously-unheard songs/mixes from the vault. How exciting to see a new post on this thread.I had to do a double-take to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me! Of the 5 new songs Remember Me really stands out from the rest. It consists of 11 tracks, 6 of which were in the public domain already. until about 4 weeks ago! You could genuinely have knocked me down with a feather when, all of a sudden, they put the whole album up on Soundcloud. The years came and went with no sign of the ever elusive album. The band resurfaced with an internet presence about 7 years ago and every January they promised that this year would be the year that they made the album public. None of their 4 singles graced the top 40 (a total pop injustice) but This Is America and King Of Fools sound as good today as they ever did. However, for me, this month's unofficial release of the band's shelved album The World Tonight was a momentous occasion and I really thought it deserved a thread of its own (I'll be interested to see if it sinks without trace though!)įor those that don't recall the band, they were four guys that made some great pop songs in the late 80s. Wasn't sure whether this would best be posted in the "acts that only you remember" thread.
